Welcome

"Whether you are just "surfing" the net, or made your way here intentionally, the members and friends of North Shore Presbyterian Church welcome you!

Our mantra is "Building the Covenant Family". "Building", because the Holy Spirit is not finished with us. "Covenant" because this is how God relates to us and how we seek to relate to the God of love and grace. "Family" because we seek to welcome and accept everyone regardless of gender, race, nationality, economic, social, political or sexual orientation.

Together we create opportunities for worship, spiritual growth, fellowship and mission.  Our 2009-2010 Church Calendar provides a basic schedule of events and information.  (Printed copies of this calendar can be mailed upon request, and are available on the Information Table at our church.)

Come meet us; we believe you will find a comfortable place in our caring community."
~The Reverend James P. Bender

Nursery and Childcare

Carly

Carly Lasser Olander is our full-time Nursery Caregiver. Carly has a long history with our NSPC families. In fact, when she first came to NCPC she was one of the children being cared for in our nursery! While she was in high school, she took time to teach in our Young Children in Worship program for K4 – 2nd Grade.

She has always enjoyed working with children and takes seriously this opportunity to help guide the children of our Covenant Family.

We realize that you are allowing us to care for your greatest treasure. We provide an atmosphere of comfort and security while your child is in the care of the nursery staff. Our nursery is located on the second floor overlooking the sanctuary. It can be accessed by the elevator or stairway at the east entrance or a stairway to the left of the sanctuary. Greeters and Ushers will also be happy to provide you directions or escort you to the nursery.

Preschool (2 & 3 year-olds)

Sunday School for two- and three-year olds is held in the classroom across from the Nursery. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay with their children until they are comfortable. Every Sunday our Nursery and Preschool are staffed with regular volunteers from 9:15 - Noon. We ask that each preschool parent set aside time to involve themselves in our preschool as a volunteer. This gives parents an opportunity to get to know our Nursery and Preschool workers and other families within the church.

Primary Grades (K4-6th grade) Julia

Sunday School classes are held for K4 - 6th Grade children from September through May.Classes meet each Sunday from 9:15 - 10:15 AM.
Our Sunday School program offers Spirit-filled, loving teachers who share God's love and their faith with children each week. Sunday morning classes for 4 year olds through 6th grade provide Bible learning opportunities using a variety of proven educationally sound techniques.

Youth (7th-12th grade)

youth group

Youth (7th - 12th grade) use the Bible as a resource to explore subjects as wide-ranging as prayer to peer pressure. These classes are taught by an energetic team of adults who love kids. This year our NSPC high school youth will tackle uncharted waters during Sunday morning program time, social events and service projects.

Adult Education

Our Adult Education program offers a variety of elective courses that change periodically. Some people are new to the Christian faith, while others have been on the journey for many years. What this means for us in Adult Education is that we need to provide a variety of ways for adults to be involved in their own learning. We will provide learning opportunities in three broad categories: theology/literature, current topics as well as a Bible study.

Click this link for our Adult Education Program Schedule.

We hope that every adult will find some involvement in learning that is interesting and vital so that their journey of faith continues.

Worship for All Ages

We extend an enthusiastic welcome, in Christ's name, to all who worship here or join us in fellowship. We affirm that there can be no exclusion within the body of Christ. We invite all children of God to join us as Disciples of Christ and to participate fully in the life of this congregation. At North Shore Presbyterian Church we believe that this is a place where children are loved and accepted. Children's bulletins are available each Sunday from the ushers and worship bags are available for active minds and hands. Large print bulletins and Presbyterian hymnals, as well as hearing devices, may be obtained from an usher.
