Covenant Family
Not a membership. A promise we keep to each other.
We don't call ourselves a congregation of members. We call ourselves a Covenant Family — because what holds this place together is what we've promised one another, not what we've signed.
We call ourselves the "covenant family" because we have people of all ages — from newborns all the way to older people.Marilyn John
Mission & Values
Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here
We welcome you with open hearts and minds. This congregation holds a wide range of politics and theology, united by a commitment to follow Jesus — and by a conviction that the door stays open.
Creating a Spiritual Home, Growing the Covenant Family. Our calling
Worship
We gather to worship God together — in the sanctuary through the school year, and outdoors at the garden all summer.
Welcome
We meet others with Christian compassion, whoever they are and whatever brought them to the door.
Educate
We promote faith development at every age, from Sunday School and Confirmation to Bible study on Wednesday mornings.
Advocate
We work for peace and justice, and we address suffering where we find it — starting with our own neighborhood.
Neighboring Initiative
It's always a good day to be a neighbor
Our church home faces the neighborhood, and we're called to be good neighbors.
Block Party
Each year as summer winds down, we close the street for food trucks, ice cream, games, and a bounce house.
Spring Clean Out
A free community exchange with Shorewood Buy Nothing, in the freecycle spirit — bring what you don't need, take what you do.
Find us at community events
National Night Out, Shorewood 12, and local parades — we turn up where the neighborhood already is.
All we're ever asked to do in this life is to treat our neighbor exactly as we would hope to be treated ourselves.Fred Rogers
