Neighboring Initiative

The famous neighbor Mr. Rogers said, "All we're ever asked to do in this life is to treat our neighbor exactly as we would hope to be treated ourselves."

And that’s exactly what we want to do! Our Neighboring Initiative strives simply to be a good neighbor. We do this by offering events for the community, seeking to fill needs the needs of our neighbors, and providing hospitality. We host several events a year such and always looking to partner with the community and provide for any need. It’s always a good day to be a neighbor!

Easter Egg Hunt

NSPC hosts an Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter. Kids of all ages are invited to make a craft, hear a few stories, and of course, hunt for Easter Eggs!

Block Party

Our Annual Block Party, for all Shorewood residents, typically occurs the Saturday before the public school season begins. We close off the street, bring in a food truck and ice cream truck, offer games and a giant bounce house!

Shorewood Spring Clean Out

Inspired by the freecycle movement and with the help of Shorewood Buy Nothing, this event is like a community garage sale where everything is free. Neighbors are invited to donate items from a selected list of household items and after volunteers organize all the donations neighbors can come “shop” for free until everything is gone!
